Conversations about your preferred future

Helping them (students) identify those key moments in the session or behavioral changes in the session, I think that takes some training. It takes experience to wach things over and over and to notice, something is different there, something shifted, what happened? – Sara Smock, SFP #44

Think about where you are right now, what you are doing well, but what you’d like to do a little bit different or a little bit better.

Video-record a conversation about your preferred future and look at it in the future:

1. Have a conversation with a friend or a colleague about this difference that you would like and what it would look like in detail.
2. Review it and look at it the next day to say `You know, this date and this time, these were my best hopes, this is what I wanted`.
3. And then look at it again in a month or two and
– notice different things one or two months down the road in that conversation that you didn’t notice the day after,
– and notice how these differences that you observed one or two months down the road made a difference in your current life, what you are already doing, and what you have already accomplished.
