Pick up carefully

 

As we saw yesterday, words travel through conversations. This also happens when we pick up words from our conversation partner.

 

Repeat and observe
1.) Listen to what your conversation partner says. 2.) Choose what words you want to pick up. 3.) Repeat those words exactly. 4.) Observe what happens next. 5.) Observe when those exact words that your client said and you repeated show up in the conversation again.

e.g.
Conversation partner: “It’s better now than it was before.”
You: “Ah, it’s better now.”
Conversation partner: “Yes….”
Conversation partner, 5′ later: “Since it’s better now, I feel more confident.”
