(Hier geht’s zum deutschen Adventkalender…)
7, like on December 7, is the number we hear the most, when we ask our conversation partners where they are on a scale from 1 to 10. An invitation to scale today? Always 🙂
Let’s dance on the scales like the butterflies in the wind and reflect on a conversation you had in the last few days, maybe your “Nikolaus” conversation from yesterday (Check door number 6 again) or any other conversation that you would like to learn from.
Take a piece of paper and draw four scales from 1-10 on it.
Scale 1: My best conversation ever
– Where on the scale “My best conversation ever” are you, when 10 means that you had the best conversation ever and 1 the complete opposite? (Mark that position, e.g. with an X)
– What did you do that you are already at X and not at 1? (Make a list with at least 10 things you did that worked well.)
Scale 2: Listening to the brilliance
– Where on the scale “Listening to the brilliance” are you, when 10 means that you managed to fully listen to the brilliance of the other person and 1 the complete opposite? (Mark that position, e.g. with an X)
– What did you do that you are already at X and not at 1? (Make a list with at least 10 things you did that worked well.)
Scale 3: Asking great solution focused questions
– Where on the scale “Asking great solution focused questions” are you, when 10 means that you asked the greatest solution focused questions that helped the other person to move forward and 1 the complete opposite? (Mark that position, e.g. with an X)
– What did you do that you are already at X and not at 1? (Make a list with at least 10 things you did that worked well.)
Scale 4: Choose and name your own scale
– Where on your own scale are you? (Mark that position, e.g. with an X)
– What did you do that you are already at X and not at 1? (Make a list with at least 10 things you did that worked well.)
Multiscaling: Moving forward on one scale and discovering the differences
1. Choose one of the above scales: How could you and others notice that you moved up a little bit on that scale? What would be different then? What would you do differently then?
2. Where would you then be on the other scales? What differences could that make for your and for others? What might you be doing differently?
We love (multi)scaling and wish you a lot of fun and great learning today!
