Formulate your formulation wisely

We can’t formulate neutral formulations.
With formulations we describe, summarize, explicate, characterize, echo, mirror, summarize, reflect, reframe, relabel, etc. what our conversation partner has said. And by doing that we always change the content that someone said.

Check your formulation
After you responded to someone today: Remember what the person said (Maybe write it down together with your formulation after the conversation). Then check your formulation for what you changed. What did you e.g. leave out, what did you add, what did you alter? And how did these changes influence the conversation?

Learn how to analyze your interactions in our 4-week online course “Explore your Interactions: Applying Microanalysis of Face-to-Face Dialogue in Your Conversations“. The next course starts on January, 14, 2021.
